Homemade PCB for BlinkStick v1.0

Hello,
my name is John and since I discovered BlinkStick I was thinking to create my own using a homemade PCB.
The first test was on breadboard. Then I designed a single layer PCB on Kicad and since I had all the components available I created my BlinkStick v1.0.
The PCB layout I designed is available on github.

Thanks for sharing! What did you use to etch the PCB?

I used Sodium persulfate. I have also used Ferric chloride in the past but I think it’s more toxic.

I also did a few prototypes, but with hydrochloric acid and hydrogen peroxide. Nasty stuff and very dangerous. Still have 5L of each! I used toner transfer method.

I’ve never used this method because the pharmacist wouldn’t sell me the hydrogen peroxide. She was saying it’s too dangerous. I use photosensitive PCBs. I have a UV Exposure box using cheap UV LEDs.
