Problems getting Blinkstick Pro working with Adafruit Neopixel 60 Ring

Hi I am having troubles getting the Blinkstick Pro to work with the Neopixel Ring. As soon as I plug it into the USB port, some LEDs flash briefly in a random color, then turn off. In the Blinkstick client, when i go to test & select the Blinkstick, nothing happens when I change the color. When I click “pulse color”, the first LED turns bright white and stays like that whatever button I press (all off / change color, switch to color, all off etc.). Setting the inverse mode did not work too.

I’ve also tested Blinkstick status and it shows the stick as connected. Changing the settings to brightness 10% (so I’m not going over the power limit via USB) & setting the number of LEDs to 60 unfortunately also didn’t change anything. Any help would be very appreciated

PS: Just in case it might be the root of the problem: before connecting the ring directly to the Blinkstick, I connected it to the LED strip controller set - had pretty much the same behaviour, hopefully I didn’t blow the controller by doing so…

OK nevermind found out what the problem was - had to set the mode to WS2812 first, silly me

Hi how do you set mode, mine is on rgb, does that mean normal rgb leds not the addressable? how do i switch ime using blinkstick status 1.0 beta 2

You cannot switch mode with BlinkStick Status. To change the mode use the BlinkStick Client 2.0.

Yes ive found that out now,i read that you had to use python so i was messing about with all that with no luck kept getting syntax errors and give up after mutch hair loss, glad to see that there is software coming avalable for ease of use,i understand things are getting better, well ime a new person to the fourum and ile try add some cool stuff when i get the hang of it all.
