Livetime of Blinkstick Nano?

Hi,
there is a statement about the live time of Blink Stick Nano in continuous operation ?

Greetings from Germany

Hey Ben,

what exactly is the backgroud of your question?
It depends on what you want to do with the device and where it should operate.

The lifetime of the ATTiny85 for example could be 100 years or longer but like any other semiconductor it depends on the ambient temperature etc.
The EEPROM of the ATTiny85 take 100.000 write/erase cycles until you cannot write/erase it anymore. No problem if you don´t want to change the BlinkStick mode all the time
I think the main problems are the LEDs with a average lifetime of 15 years. But in theory this lifetime could be much longer.

In my eyes there´s no need to a special care about the lifetime.
@arvydas Tell me if I´m wrong

That sounds good. I just wanted to make sure that a continuous operation can easily be implemented . Such as orientation light…

Thanks

ATTiny85 (the main chip behind BlinkStick) has the only limitation of 100000 writes to EEPROM. If you don’t use infoblocks, then ATTiny should last pretty much forever

The LEDs have a continuous lifetime of 50000 hours, that’s about 6 years of continuous operation. However, the LED lifetime can be affected by humidity.
