Controlling Ikea Dioder

I have an Ikea Dioder wired into a LED adapter which is plugged into a Blinkstick Pro, yet the index for the first LED controls every LED along the strip.

This means with an index value of 0 with the colour set to blue, every LED on the dioder lights up as blue. Is there any reason for this? Could it be due to the wiring into the adapter or the mode of the Blinkstick Pro?

It is not possible to control single LEDs on IKEA Dioder. This is only possible with addressable LEDs like the LED strip included with BlinkStick Flex:

or some other WS2812 LED strips.
